So, today I was talking to my mom about what I should do with my life. It’s been decided that I’m going to open a bakery//upscale lingerie store hybrid. I don’t know how that’s going to work out. Or you know, I could just do both, one at a time.
Why am I in art school again?i chat.

The collective conscious is the highest form of the psychic life, since it is the consciousness of the consciousness. Being placed outside and above all individual and local contingencies, it sees things in this permanent and essential aspect, which it crystallizes into communicable ideas … it alone can furnish the mind with the molds which are applicable to the totality of things and which make it possible to think of them.
Emile Durkheim (french sociologist) 1912 The Elementary forms of Religious Life
i really enjoy the various musings as to how humans as a species are connected and alike, like similar solutions to problems rising independently across the globe (sewing as a way to connect material to form clothing, for example is the same basic concept seen in most every culture)

at least i woke up of my own accord and made it to class on time.
i’m now sitting in a library and had to unplug a lamp to plug my computer in to check my email etc. that i didnt get to do this morning. i was also just accosted by a spider.

Computer Courtesy
when using someone else’s computer; i think it should be etiquette law that when you sign onto certain websites, such as the computer server, facebook etc. you should be required to then sign out of them. facebook isn’t that big of a deal because you can log right back in- if you remember your password and aren’t using your browser to fill it in automatically for you. my school’s computer server however, won’t let you log out unless you close the internet window you are using, not the tab, but the whole window.. which led to me tonight having to delete all of my tabs with useful websites for my paper and my summer plans which i haven’t actually upgraded into bookmarks yet.
on this note. today i also had to get down on my hands and knees and return all of my desk appliance plugs to their usual spot, which had been worked out so that a power bar connects them all, but today in my roommate’s frantic rush to figure out how to turn on my printer (which i ended up texting her instructions for) had completely unplugged and left re-plugged in a hap-hazard fashion so that half of my electronics wouldn’t work.
some would brush this off, as i am going to (after a small note to my roommate), and consider me a control freak, but its a personal bubble issue, such as borrowing someone’s hairbrush and returning it full of hair.
(this collected expression of frustration was also procrastination for the paper i must finish tonight: going to see a high school football game at the rogers centre tomorrow, debating putting baileys in my coffee)

By portraying experience in a particular way, words work their unconscious magic on humans, making them see, for example, products as necessary for success or creating distinctions between better or worse-be it body shape, hair style, or brand of blue jeans. Words create belief in religions, governments, and art forms; they create allegiances to football teams, politicians, movie stars, and certain brands of beer. Words are the windows of our own souls and to the world beyond our fingertips. Their essential persuasive efficacy works its magic on every person in every society.

Sweet Potato
is my favorite food right now. its good in anything. i will probably get some dehabilitating vitamin deficiency from eating it so much - oh wait, its actually the most nutritious vegetable, who knew?:
“In 1992, the Center for Science in the Public Interest compared the nutritional value of sweet potatoes to other vegetables. Considering fibre content, complex carbohydrates, protein, vitamins A and C, iron, and calcium, the sweet potato ranked highest in nutritional value. According to these criteria, sweet potatoes earned 184 points, 100 points over the next on the list, the common potato.(NCSPC)” (Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweet_potato).
yessss.

Yeah, fine, okay..
So I remade a tumblr because I finished all seasons of Grey’s Anatomy (don’t even ask me how/why that started/happened) so I ran out of distractions, and I was tired of typing in the links for the individuals who still had tumblrs that I wanted to keep in touch with. I probably won’t be using it as much as I was using it before, if I can keep myself away (just wait, I’ll fail miserably at this hahaha). The end.
hahaha YES. i am supremely happy that you’ve re-given in to this sort of internet distraction from real-life.
